Life has become increasingly full of studying and less full of fun and sun... however, i *did* manage to find something interesting to do on Saturday this past week.... we went on a hash. This is going to take a little bit of explaining... hashes are when you get a bunch of people together and set out two different trails, one for walking and one for running. The runners go along the trail and every once in awhile get to a check point where they all stop. At the checkpoint there are 2-3 different paths to investigate each of them. Only one is the correct path to take. Along each there are two dots (of sawdust) and at the end of the correct path there is a third dot, but at the end of the false paths there is an 'x'. So as your running along, you yell "on one" "on two" and then "on on!" when you figure out it's the right path, or call back it's not and come back... and so on and so forth... so the whole group runs together and it's more of a group effort than usual races. And I was under the impression that it would be pretty much on a wide, clear trail where i could take pictures and slowly job along enjoying myself. However, it was more of a race combined with a hike than i imagined. Part of the trail we were on ran right through the rain forest. We were running down steep slopes of the hill and climbing up dried up river banks... clawing our way up the side of the hills by roots, etc. Through the mud. It was a lot of fun. Part of it was also just running through the fields too... there were loose cattle out in one of the fields we were running through and they got all excited when we ran by and ran after us and eventually cut in front of us on the trail. It was crazyness! The picture above is of the back of my shirt that I got from the hash... and we're planning on going on a lot more of them. The next one is in a few weeks. I got some pictures before we got to the rain forest, i'll probably bring the camera and get before and after shots at each hash... usually afterwards they all get together and have a few beers and cookout hamburgers and hot dogs and all just mingle. It seems like a lot of fun... unfortunately we had to leave early from the post-hash mingling to go to dinner with a bunch of my friends who weren't there. Next time we'll hang out more, it's a nice way to meet new people who are not school related... it was a really good time...
Also last week we had our second week of dog walking. more of the same, except this time it was in the early morning time... not as much fun in the morning...
the other big news of the week is that i'm moving out of my apartment into a new one with Ian. Things just weren't really working out with three of us here... i'm sad to be leaving my lovely amanda... but it's something that just had to be done... plus i [heart] ian too... so hopefully we don't end up hating eachother!!
i'm still looking for a finalized place, but as soon as we figure out where we're staying i'll put up pics of it. The main contestant right now is a place right across the street practically from where i am now... and the really fun part is that there is a single apartment also up for rent that's part of the same building which Kathy is looking at renting (she's also moving out of her current place). It would def be amazing with the three of us so close together :D
That's about all for now. Lots of important tests coming up, i am basically at the library enough that they should be paying me. only 6 weeks until Mom gets here!
